About my art
My Background, My Medium and My Inspiration
IMY BACKGROUND : I enjoyed the personal relationships of my career as a manager and accountant, but creativity was not part of the equation, After retirement I pursued artistic endeavors and found glass fusion to be the perfect blend of creative thought and physical activity to bring about form and beauty to my art.
MY MEDIUM: As a tactile person, the pursuit of handling and making glass art satisfies all of my senses from conception, to color choices and design, the process to bring a piece of glass to completion includes cutting, shaping, fusing, cold working and sometimessand blasting to enhance the beauty of the glass.
MY INSPIRATION: I choose a glass design from what I observe in my daily life. Often seeing something of beauty will trigger a desite to capture the feeling inglass. It can involve color, design or a relationship i=of images. For example, flying in an airplane over cities I was struck by the similarity of design to p;rinted circuit boards, and sought to to capture the idea in my next glass design, ideas come from everywhere in life.
